Instructional technology enhanced the effectiveness of my unit plan by relating classic literature to modern uses. This unit shows students how to use technology for their education in sharing information with others, finding resources online, and making the physical classroom tech-friendly.

- SmartBoard used in Concept development lesson plan. Students will record their answers in a graphic organizer on the SmartBoard.
- PowerPoint presentation and YouTube video are used in Direct Instruction. Both explain details about Poe’s life in a way that is interesting and relevant to students.
- Students use internet search engines and PowerPoint application in Inquiry lesson plan to define vocabulary words and create a slideshow. This teaches students how to retrieve information online and synthesize data into a presentation.
